

COKER | Joel Nathan Robertson, age 84, of Coker, died Nov. 1, 2014, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Greg Tucker and Bro. Tim Long officiating. Burial will follow in Bone Camp Methodist Church Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel David and Molly Blanch Robertson.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine ; daughters, Lynda Nevin (David) of Akron, Betty Bell of Coker, and Brenda Boothe of Northport; son, Jimmy Robertson of Jackson, Mich.; sisters, Mary Lois Long and Joyce Gosa (Kenneth) all of Hamilton, Miss.; brother, James Shirley (Joyce) Robertson, of Aberdeen, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Robertson was a loving husband for 65 years. He loved and adored his children and grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1951. He then was a farmer. He then went to work for Sartain Sawmill in 1966 and worked there for over 40 years. He attended Coker Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons and Woody Sartain.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Stephen Brown, Dr. Avinash Nichani, Alabama Hospice Care, Lisa Pennington, and especially Shelia Gordon, Mr. Tony Breshnahan, the family of Woody Sartain, and long-time friends of the Coker community.
