Johnny Will Smith

TUSCALOOSA - J.W. Smith, Sr., age 86, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away August 26, 2018 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Sunset Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Tindle officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, the mother of his children, Cassie Seales Smith; brother, Willard Smith; and sister, Minnie Lee Marlowe.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Smith; sons, Johnny W. Smith, Jr. (Susan) and Donald E. Smith, Sr. (Linda); eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; brother, Buddy Smith (Maxine); sisters, Mildred Lambert and Mary Fay Radcliffe.

Pallbearers will be Steve Mason, Donald Smith, Jr., Mark Smith, Darrell Waid, Chris Waid and Clyde Tinker.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends of the Mt. Olive Church community, Jimmy and Elna Battle, Ms. Gladys Farley and Mr. Fred Hahn.
