COTTONDALE – Mark Edward Skelton, age 49, of Cottondale, Ala., was born on October 7, 1967 and died January 30, 2017,at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Sunset Funeral Home with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, handling the arrangements. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.Mark was one of the most loving and hard- working men that you could ever meet. He was tender-hearted and worried too much about others instead of himself. If Mark was around, you can guarantee that he would stand up for anyone being mistreated. He was a loving son, brother and uncle. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Fred Skelton Jr., and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Skelton, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Roy A. Brown. Survivors include his mother, Barbara Skelton; his sister, Libby Junkin (Dan), his nieces, Elizabeth and Danie|le Junkin; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dog, Lucy.Pallbearers will be Roy Brown, Darrell Brown, Alan Whinery, Todd Whinery, Scott McCool, and Heath Wright.
