Mary Lisa Wedgeworth

Mary Lisa Boler Wedgeworth, age 57, of Northport, Alabama, was born on June 12, 1965. She graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1984. Lisa enjoyed a strong interest in athletics, especially basketball, volleyball, and softball. She was selected for a Gadsden State Community College basketball scholarship and attended for two years. After returning to Northport, she started her career at Wendy’s and served as General Manager for 36 years. Lisa loved caring and supporting her own family and extended family but also other families in need. She loved all dogs and cats but cats were her favorite, owning 3-4 at a time. Of course, all were rescued stray animals since she could not turn them away. Lisa loved to cook, bake breads and can foods like her parents. Another love was being outside, gardening and growing beautiful plants and flowers. She has been married to Kevin Wedgeworth for 14 years. Her son, David Turner, has been the joy of her life. She really enjoyed making road trips to watch him play football at Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi.

Lisa was proceeded in death by her parents Willie Thomas Boler and Mattie Pearl (Wood) Boler of Northport, Alabama; brothers, Willie Thomas Boler, Jr. and David Timothy Boler.

Survivors include her husband, Kevin Thomas Wedgeworth, her son, David Eric Turner; sister, Rebecca Ann Boler Meyer (William Meyer); brothers, Howard Slade Boler (Melissa Boler), Charles Wood Boler (Margo Boler); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home.
