Myree M. Galloway

She is survived by her children, Gary Galloway (Nancy) and Sue Bailey; her grandchildren, Pam Bailey, Lance Bailey (Amy), Byron Bailey (Shannon), Wayne Bailey, Amy Sims (Josh), Stacy Galloway, William Galloway, Jamie Bissot (Andrew), and Emily Strong; as well as 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Myree was preceded in death by her husband, James Raiford Galloway; her son, John William Galloway; her parents, John Samuel and Velma Curl Montgomery, and son-in-law, Larry Bailey.

Myree graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1947. She later worked as a nurse's aid at Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa. She cherished her time at Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, where she served as the choir director for many years. She was also a proud charter member of the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department.

She enjoyed gardening, fishing, quilting, and especially camping. Her famous chicken and dumplings will be fondly remembered and dearly missed at future family gatherings. Above all, she deeply loved her family.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, located at 19552 Mormon Rd., Northport, AL 35475. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Terrell Jones and Pastor Noah Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lance Bailey, Byron Bailey, Wayne Bailey, and William Galloway. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons.
