

Ray is predeceased by his parents, Raymond C. (Bill) and Doris G. Cook; his brothers, William P. (Billy) Cook and Daniel L. Cook, and his nephew, Dallas L. Cook.
Ray is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shelia Marlow Cook; his brother, Kelly Jay Cook; his nephews, Destin Cook (Carrie) and Timothy Marlow (Cheryln); his nieces, Cristy Templeton (Doug), Kelly Leighann Cook and Tommasina Marlow; sister-in-law, Donna Marlow and brother-in-law, Kenneth Marlow. Ray is also survived by several great nephews and nieces.
Ray graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1973 where he enjoyed playing football and other sports. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1978 with a degree in Recreation.
After working in the field of recreation for several years, he found he enjoyed building and became a construction contractor. Several buildings in downtown Tuscaloosa and surrounding areas reflect his skills.
Thanks to Dr. Stephen D. Browne of Northport Internal Medicine, Dr Maya Khalil, and Dr. Neil T. Pfister of the Kirkland Clinic of UAB for their guidance through Ray's illness. Also, thanks to the staff at DCH and Hospice of West Alabama for your care and kindness.
Special thanks to Johnny Scruggs and Josh Moore and many others for their calls and visits which greatly lifted Ray's spirits.
