Sammie Anders

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 11:00am until 12:00pm at Five Points Baptist Church in Northport with the Celebration of Life Funeral Services following. Reverend Drew Heurion officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in the Moore’s Bridge community

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Donnie Sanders Anders, parents Samuel Wood Anders, Ruby White Anders, his brothers John and Preston Anders, and sisters Ruth Anders and Sarah Bell Anders Jones and a very special aunt Dicie Jane Anders.

Survivors include his sons Mark Anders (Teri) Randy Anders (Natalie), grandsons Tyler and Wade Anders, granddaughters Haley and Samantha Wade.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews

Honorary pallbearers are members of Five Points Baptist Church, Alabama Department of Conservation, members of J Collier Foster Lodge # 906, employees of Tuscaloosa County Courthouse, friends and neighbors of Brownsville and Moore’s Bridge communities, DCH TSICU nurses and staff, 7th floor nurses and staff, Hospice of West Alabama nurses and staff Morning Point nurses and staff, Helen Ware and Tammy Trawick.

Sammie loved the outdoors from the vegetable’s he raised on his farm to turkey hunting to fishing which led to a 29 year career with Alabama Department of Conservation as a game warden. He loved meeting and helping numerous people throughout the state.

He loved his Sunday School class and hanging out with his Moody Swamp friends and eating the fruit of their labor and occasionally telling tall tales.
