At just 17, Sharon left her home in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to attend Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans, where she met the love of her life, Larry. Their journey together took them across the country before they settled in Tuscaloosa in 1971 to raise their family. Throughout their life together they shared a deep passion for travel, embracing adventures around the world with friends and family.
After completing her nursing career, Sharon continued to serve her community by working in the adult education department at the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education. Throughout her life Sharon gave generously of her time and heart, volunteering with organizations such as the American Red Cross, the state and local PTA, FOCUS, RSVP and Friends of Northport. But her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Kim Morris, Sharon’s longtime caregiver and friend, whose unwavering compassion and care brought comfort and love during her final years.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 3802 Watermelon Road, Northport, AL 35473.
