Terri was a lifelong resident of Northport. She was married to Ron Henderson for 30 years. She was a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School, Class of 1975, and was employed by Alabama Power for over 25 years. She was an active member of Five Points Baptist Church and an avid seamstress who served in the church quilting ministry. She was gifted in all the crafting areas she explored.
Terri was an “old soul.” She loved the simple things in life, such as a good book, a sunset, and laughter until you cry. She was often quietly absorbing others’ feelings and offering a hug, a smile, and a shoulder to help carry their burdens. She greeted cashiers, tellers, and delivery drivers with a “How’s your day?” and, when their business was complete, she would say, “Thank you, darling.”
The kids would often ask, “Do you know them?” She would laugh and say, “No.” Terri wrote notes to doctors and nurses thanking them for helping her on her cancer journey. While sharing a moment with a 93-year-old fellow cancer patient during treatment, who was extremely ill, Terri gently walked over, patted him on the shoulder, and with a soft smile said, “Tomorrow is going to be better.” She was dependable and hardworking, either all in or not at all. Always wanting more, not for herself, but for those around her, finding joy in theirs firsthand.
Her family was her everything. She celebrated their achievements and accomplishments as if they were the first to ever receive such honors.
Terri’s legacy lives on with her family and friends. Her mission was kindness to all, and this is not the end of her life, but just a break in time away from her. We will reconnect and join her, never to be separated again.
Terri was preceded in death by her father, D.L. Foley, and her husband, Gerold Gast.
Survivors include her mother, Betty Foley Clark; her husband, Ron Henderson; her daughter, Lindsey Gast; her daughter, Ashley Mills (Michael); her son, Flynn Gast Jr.; and her grandchildren, Brett Quinn, Keely Quinn, Jax Grantham, Keilean Gast, Josie Mills, Millie Mills, and Valley Mills.
Visitation for Terri will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Five Points Baptist Church.
