

TUSCALOOSA – On June 22, 2017, God called home his son, Veto. Veto lived in Tuscaloosa most of his life and he was a fixture in downtown Tuscaloosa. He never met a stranger. Veto worked at a variety of places and the most memorable will be the family he made at Tuscaloosa Wholesale Flowers and First Sun Financial. His co-workers throughout the years made him feel loved and special. He continued to work at First Sun Financial up until he was ninety years old. He was so dedicated he was talking about going back to work last week. Veto's love for the University of Alabama football goes all the way back to the era of Paul "Bear" Bryant. Veto was able to witness six national championships under his leadership. Veto was a friend to many and had a smile for everybody. He attended Capstone Church and was saved early in his life. Veto lived his days to the fullest with love in his heart. Veto was always caring for others and was loved by all who met him. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Frank Catalano (Geraldine) in Birmingham, Ala. His caretaker Cedric Crummie, staff and housemates, Volunteers of America, First Sun Financial, Capstone Church, Tuscaloosa Wholesale Flowers, Druid City Hospital, Regions Bank, Constance May, Sunset Funeral Home and a host of many other people. John 14:1-4 "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going."Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
