

COKER | Wanda Faye Peyton Roberts, age 90, of Coker, died December 3, 2014 at West Alabama Hospice. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 at Coker Cemetery with Rev. Greg Tucker officiating and Sunset Funeral Home directing, a Dignity Memorial Provider.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elgin Roberts in 1949, and her husband of 52 years, Ed Roberts in 2004; her mother, Grace Moore; father, Otto Peyton; and sister, Eleanor Wirth.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Wallace (John) of Coker; sons, Johnnie Roberts (Brenda) of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Timothy Roberts (Marilyn) of Coker; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and siblings Patsy Edmiston, Joe Peyton and Ted Peyton.
A native of Wayne City, Illinois, she moved to Coker at the age of 18. She was a long-time active member of Coker Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a devoted choir member. She worked as a beautician for many years. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling the country and ballroom dancing with her husband. She was a wonderful and beloved mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, and was cherished by all her family and friends. Pallbearers will be Allan Roberts, Larry Joe Roberts, Robert Roberts, Mike Gabel, Kevin Jones, and Sean Javris. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. George Miller and staff, Hospice of West Alabama, members of Coker Cumberland Presbyterian Church, friends of the Coker community, Claudia Gideons, and Joel (Moose) and Pam Roberts.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Coker Cumberland Presbyterian Church in her name.Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetbrown-funeral.com.
