Whit Everett Golson, age 18 months, of Northport, died Nov. 2, 2012, at home. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lakewood Baptist Church with Thomas Bret Golson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was recently preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Dorothy Furmanski, and by his uncle, John Jay Wright.
Survivors include his parents, Bret and Megan Golson; his sister, Lorelei Golson; his grandparents, Martha and Bud Golson, Kathy and Robert Malone, and Debbie and Marty Smith; his aunts and uncles, Matt and Julie Smith, Scott and Leigh McGhee, Mara Golson, and Josh and Haley Wright; and his cousins, Hunter Smith, Trevor, Britani, and Emily McGhee, and Johnny Wright.
After 18 courageous months, Whit went from his mother's arms to the arms of Jesus. Whit's greatest joy was being held by those who loved him.
Pallbearers will be Bud Golson, Marty Smith, Scott McGhee, and Matt Smith.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the International Mission Board.
