William S. Archer

COKER | William Scott Archer, age 52, of Coker, Ala., passed away on April 19, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Celebration of Life Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Sunset Funeral Home with Pastor John Quitt officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

William was preceded in death by his brother, Troy Archer and his grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta J. Archer (Lori) of Coker, Ala.; daughter, Jamie Archer of Northport, Ala.; son, Adam McCoin of Coker, Ala.; sisters, Monica Hollis (Ed) of Bakersfield, Calif. and Pati Archer of Cottonwood, Idaho; brother, Michael Archer (Debbie) of Sierra Madre, Calif.; parents, Johnnie Marie Dominguez of Cottondale, Ala. and James Archer of Apple Valley, Calif.; grandchildren, Carter and Hadley Hobson of Northport, Ala; niece, Stephanie Salmon of Bakersfield, Calif.; and nephew, Matthew Archer of Lattabra, Calif.

William was born in Norristown, Pa. and was raised in Whittier, Calif., where he graduated and played football for Rio Hondo College. He enjoyed playing and coaching baseball, softball and football. William was formerly employed at TOPS for 17 years.
