
Willie Lee (Trey) Turner, III, age 21, of Tuscaloosa, died April 27, 2011, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Jayne and Rev. Sherril Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Pate Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia M. Turner; his paternal grandparents, Willie and Mable Turner; and his maternal grandparents, Buddy and Myrtle Hodo.
Survivors include his father, Willie Lee Turner, Jr.; his sister, Erika Wilson (Glenn); his niece, Tristin Michele Wilson; and special cousins, Erin, Savannah, Ashlyn, Jenna, and Sam.
Trey was a graduate of Holt High School and attended Shelton State Community College to be a certified welder. Trey lived to hunt, fish, and worship at Druid United Methodist Church. He either hunted or fished every day and was a total outdoorsman. He loved everyone and was the kindest-hearted young man. He always said we were waiting on him, but now he is waiting on us. Trey was a blessing to everyone who knew him. He was our buddy.
Pallbearers will be Luke Smelley, Charlie Smelley, Jeremy Oswalt, Dustin Hodo, Todd Hodo, Taylor Watkins, and Trey Turner.
Honorary pallbearers are friends and coworkers at S.T. Bunn Construction Co., friends and coworkers at Hardware, Inc., friends of Elrod Hunting Club, Cliff, Daniel, and James Rutherford, members of the Volunteer Fire Department, the Waysider Restaurant, and Frank Hodo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund established at Alabama Credit Union.
