Clyde Paul Agnew passed away peacefully on September 10, 2016 after enduring an interminable bout of cancer. He passed in the comfort of his Porter Ranch, California home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Clyde was born in Lyons, New Jersey, the son of Clyde Agnew and Evelyn Jewel Harris. Buddy & his mother moved to Los Angeles, California when Clyde was about four years old. He graduated from Dorsey High School in Los Angeles.
He married the love of his life, Therese Mary Reimer-Agnew on April 4, 2014. They were married for two years and had dated five wonderful years prior to their marriage. Therese (Terri) was born in Inglewood, California and lived in Westchester, California until the age of eight. Her final destination was that of Porter Ranch within the San Fernando Valley where Clyde and Terri established their home in 2010. Clyde gained two sons upon marrying Terri, Robert Alexander Peckinpaugh and Sean Everett Peckinpaugh, a beautiful Daughter-in-Law Laura Hill-Peckinpaugh and three grandchildren Logan, Brianna & KayLynne. Clyde was also survived by his mother, Evelyn Grace Cunningham.
Clyde Paul Agnew worked for the Mission College Building Facilities as well as Los Angeles City Colleges for more than twenty-one years. In addition he had his own BBQ Catering Company, Muddy’s BBQ & Catering, licensed in 2012.
Clyde Paul Agnew was a devoted husband and partner to his wife, an amazing man with a heart of gold and loved by so many. He was a strong man with a soft heart. He was an upstanding individual with integrity & intelligence. Buddy honored his word and stuck by it, no matter the consequence. Buddy was the protector of the persecuted & the bullied. He would give unconditional guidance & support to anyone who came to him. He never judged a person for past doings. He never judged a person by race or if developmentally challenged. He always gave you the truth –whether you liked it or not. His holiday table was always filled each year with those who did not have family or another table to sit at. He somehow always had an uncanny way of taking a negative and turning it into a positive. “Buddy” loved to go out dancing with his wife, attend concert venues, movies, travel and have all the friends and family over for BBQ, dominos, poker games, basketball, football and just plain fun, love and laughter. Another love of Buddy’s was his passion for clothes and an impeccable wardrobe. He had a love for tennis. Texas Hold’em was one of his favorite pass times!
We will forever miss Clyde’s unconditional love, unmatched sense of humor, his laugh, his high-pitched voice when telling a funny story, his determination, perseverance, kindness and compassion. We will miss his full encompassing love in which he embraced his family, friends and even strangers.
His last parting words were, "it's enough just to be a happy.'
