

(GIUSEPPE VALENTINI) SEPT. 22, 1921 - FEB. 13, 2011 Born in Villa Scontrone, Italy, Joseph came to the United States with his family in 1937. He lived in Chicago, Illinois from 1937 - 1960 where he met and married the love of his life, Regina Markiewicz. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Joe and Reggie moved with their three daughters to Encino, California, in 1960 where they lived for 50 years. Joe retired from Lockheed Aircraft. He belonged to the American Legion, Moose Club, Club Italia, and Abruzzesi e Molisani Club. He enjoyed dancing, bowling, fishing and Las Vegas! He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years and three daughters Nancy Valentino, Donna Knight and Joanne Fisher. He had seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He died peacefully surrounded by his family at the VA Hospital in La Jolla, California. The visitation will be at Bastian & Perrott Mortuary in Northridge on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. (Rosary at 7 p.m.). A funeral mass will be at the San Fernando Mission Rey Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. A graveside ceremony with military honors to follow at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
