Lorraine is the daughter of John Arthur Allen and Freda McKenzie, and is the oldest of their two daughters.
Her life was one of service and caring for others. She spent many years in leadership positions beginning at Topeka Elementary in Tarzana, where she gave the graduation speech; Girl’s League President at Canoga Park High school; then many callings to serve in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her favorite being the Relief Society President and serving with many wonderful people.
One of her favorite things was the ability to bring an entire meal to a needy family without the necessity of going to the market.
Of all her favorite things, however, was planning the perfect meal, setting a beautiful table and having her entire family over to eat.
Or, letting us all inundate her trailer at Carpinteria, feeding us, and watching us enjoy each other at the beach.
Lorraine is survived by her children Nancy Stapley (Stephen), Eileen Yoder, Laura Carr (James) and Paul (Brooks), her sister, Beverly Frost, 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.aa
Lorraine was loved by many. Many lovely tributes have been written about her. One lovely and true is: “To Lorraine, one of the Lord’s most giving instruments in helping HIM create miracles.” (Michael Ballam)
