

Adele Lebejko Kornacki, 100, passed away peacefully at the Norwichtown Rehabilitation & Care Center on March 20, 2013. She was born in Salem, Ct on December 9, 1912 and was the daughter of the late Mary (Rebak) Lebejko and Thomas Lebejko.
She moved to New York at an early age and worked at S.Klein's Department Store. She was united in marriage to her first husband John Schreiner and they settled in Glendale, Long Island where they brought up a daughter, Joan.
Over the years Adele spent summers in Connecticut with her daughter at her North Wawecus Hill homestead. She loved gardening and was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Widowed at the age of 45 Adele came back to Connecticut where she was united in marriage to her second husband Alexander Kornacki. The lived in the Greenville section of town and after 25 years of marriage, Adele was widowed for the second time. She lived in Greenville up until the age of 95. She spent her last five years as a resident in the Eliza Huntington Home for Women which she loved very much.
She was predeceased by one sister Rose Lowell and five brothers; Felix, Henry, William, Michael and Joseph Lebejko. She is survived by one sister, Phyllis Baton. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Joan Beck and son-in-law William Beck, Sr. and step-son Walter Kornack. She is survived by step-daughter Francis Kornacki. She is also survived by grandchildren William Beck, Jr. (Kaylen), Anne Marks (Vincent) and Patricia Yost (William) and four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Avenue, Norwich, is in charge of funeral arrangements. Funeral will take place Saturday, March 23, 2013. Calling hour will be 9:00-9:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M at St. Joseph's Church, Cliff St., Norwich. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
