

Alphonse was born June 21, 1924, in Baltic, the son of the late Alphonse and Delia LaJeunesse.
He married the late Claire Louise (Wunderlich) September 27, 1947 at St. Mary’s Church in Greenville.
Alphonse had worked as an auto mechanic for Dahl Oil from 1947-1958 and then at A and V Auto Center from 1958-1973.
He was an avid race fan, and building race cars and engines for Modifieds with Dick Beauregard. He enjoyed auto racing with his son for over 32 years. He was a communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Church. He loved to bowl both duckpin and 10 pin. Above all, he was a very generous person who was always willing to help anyone.
He is survived by his son Mark LaJeunesse and his wife Debra, daughter Donna McClafferty and her husband Jack, grandchildren Jared Erb, Daniel LaJeunesse, and Jillian Erb, and by his great granddaughter Alexis Myles.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Anna Lussier, Azeila “Celia” Beauregard and Lorraine Lambert Buck, and by his son in law Walter Erb.
A calling hour will be held at the Church and Allen Funeral Home in Norwich from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday, July 17, 2015 and proceed to an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 181 Elizabeth St. in Norwich. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
