

Anthony N Fatone, 76, of Norwich, CT passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025. He was born in Norwich, CT on March 10, 1949, to the late Nicola and Catherine (Lamperelli) Fatone. He also leaves behind two beloved brothers, Joseph and Paul, as well as adored nieces and cherished cousins. Anthony is predeceased by numerous aunts and uncles.
He graduated from St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, CT and went on to attend St. Leo College in St. Leo, Florida. After school he returned to his hometown Norwich, CT and where he became a member of the National Guard during the Vietnam conflict. Anthony was proud to train, serve and fulfill his duties for the National Guard.
During that time, he entered the family business as a second-generation family owner. He began his career at Shetucket Plumbing Supply during the spring of 1968. He was the manager of the Plainfield, CT location for many years. He enjoyed working with his father, Nicola Fatone and brothers, Joseph and Paul. Shetucket grew from a single plumbing and heating wholesale supply location to a nine-location business during his lifetime career. Anthony had a manly approach to his various roles at Shetucket Supply. Signs of strength and decisiveness were his business traits. During his career he welcomed other family members to the business, a cousin, Kenneth Charles whom he worked alongside and his niece, Susan Soderberg who would be the third generation to the family business. The Fatone family business, Shetucket Supply was known locally for their deep roots in the community and being tied into the social fabric of Southeastern Connecticut. The business was sold in 2007 and Anthony semi-retired for several years until his full retirement in 2014.
Anthony is survived by his daughter, Leandra Fatone and his grandson Logan as well as the love of his life, Sarah Ayer.
Anthony had a passion for fast sports cars, cigars, golf, fine wine and good food. He had a big heart; he lived his life to the fullest. He will be remembered for his generosity. He was “Big Ant” or “Ant” to those closest to him -who loved him for his unwavering convictions and larger than life personality. His memory will be cherished forever.
Calling hours for Anthony will be held on Monday, June 9 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Church & Allen Funeral Home 136 Sachem St. Norwich, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, June 10 at 10am at the Cathedral of St. Patrick 213 Broadway, Norwich. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
