He was born on February 6, 1923, the son of Ruth Burdick and Clark Woodmansee, Sr. He was a lifelong Preston resident and dairy farmer. He was also involved with and ran Kahn’s Livestock Sales in Franklin in the 1960’s. He was very well respected in the farming community and instrumental in moving forward with modern dairy practices.
Winslow married Sophie Yurechko on February 22, 1947. He and Sophie raised four children on the farm. Winslow and Sophie created the Amos Lake Beach Club in Preston, which they ran for 50 years. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and had many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sophie, and his four children; Rosanna Woodmansee of Sudbury, MA, Clark Woodmansee, III and Lois of Preston, Jessica Tedisky and Steve of Groton Long Point, and Dell Woodmansee and Jill of Preston. He has 10 grandchildren: Clark Winslow Woodmansee, IV, Anne Klewin, Liz Geer, Emily Kelusky, Lauren Jurczyk, Jackie Benevides, Steven Tedisky, Jr., Danielle Woodmansee, Anna Forman and Taylor Woodmansee, 5 great-grandchildren; Noah and Seth Klewin, Cole and Sophie Geer, Kellar Kelusky and a great granddaughter due in December. He was predeceased by his sisters, Lois Beebe and Helen Bennett.
He not only lived to 91 but he lived the majority of his life fully, doing things “his way” and taking pleasure in the outdoors, in nature and farming.
