

The family of Ella Jean Stiggle-Stone, age 59, of Norwich CT, is deeply saddened to announce that she has passed away unexpectantly on December 22, 2020. Ella was born in Norwich, CT on August 5, 1961 to William Elijah and Floria Mae Stiggle.
Ella attended Norwich Free Academy where she fell in love with her sweetheart, Jeffrey Dwayne Stone, Sr. Following her high school graduation, Ella enlisted in the United States Army and served her country for 4 years and continued her service in the United States Army Reserves for several more years.
On February 18, 1989, Ella and Jeffrey married. They had two children, Jeffrey Dwayne Stone, Jr. and Whitney Elizabeth Stone.
Ella worked for the State of Connecticut for 31 years, most recently as an Eligibility Services Worker for the Department of Social Services. She enjoyed her career as she was a people person and helping others was a skill that came easily to her.
Ella loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had an unmatched sense of humor and a personality that would light up a room. When others were down, she was able to lift them up. Ella was charismatic, giving, loving and very special to all who had the privilege to know her.
Ella is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey Dwayne Stone, Sr. of Norwich, CT, her children, Jeffrey Dwayne Stone, Jr. of Jewett City, CT Whitney Elizabeth Stone of Norwich, CT; siblings, William Chase of Vineland, NJ, Chester Chase of Columbia, SC, Joyce Anderson of Vineland, NJ, Margaret (Leonard) Fells of Gales Ferry, CT, Gloria (Melvyn) Wheeler of Colchester, CT, Jenny (Ernest) Axson of Davenport, FL, Harley (Debora) Stiggle Sr. of Norwich, CT, Anna Stiggle of Morrisville, NC, Terri Stiggle of Norwich, CT, Flora Stiggle of Las Vegas, NV, and Dennis Stiggle of New London, CT, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ella was predeceased by her parents William Elijah and Flora Mae Stiggle, two brothers: William Stokes Calvin Stiggle, and two sisters: Lila Chase and Doncella Axson.
A private ceremony for immediate family will be held on January 9, 2020. A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends when it is safe to do so.
