Irene E. Dayton

Irene Dayton 71, of Norwich died Friday Jan.5, 2018 at Backus Hospital. She was born in Hartford March 6, 1946, daughter of the late Herbert and Madeline (Hayes) Post. She is the beloved wife of Calvin T. Dayton Jr. She was employed in quality control at the Faria Co. for many years. Besides her husband she is survived by a son and daughter in law Michael and Karen Dayton of Rocky Hill and a daughter and son in law Sherri and Nehemy Calixte of Quaker Hill, 8 grandchildren, Linda Pepin of Maine, Roger Rocray of Maine, Aaron Rocray of Maine, Jesse Sweeney of Kansas, Victoria Drake of Princeton NJ, Jessica Drake of Quaker Hill, Brent Vik of Ct. and Nehemia Calixte of Quaker Hill. She also leaves 6 great grandchildren, Eric Denbow, Rylie Rocray, Christine Sweeney, Angelo Alexis, Dawn Denbow, and Raymond Denbow. Irene also leaves 3 great great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a daughter Christine Pepin, and a brother Steven Post. Visitation will be Wednesday Jan. 10, 2018 from 5-6 p.m. at the Church and Allen Funeral Home 136 Sachem Street Norwich with a Funeral Service at 6 p.m. Burial will be private.
