Isabelle Ruffo

She was the wife of the late Joseph Ruffo (Pepper Martin). Her sister Mary, brothers Benny, Joe, and a nephew Michael (Mickey) also predeceased her. She was the daughter of Stanley and Josephine (Lentowska) Wasilewski.

Isabelle lived in Norwich most of her life and belonged to St. Joseph's Church. She worked as a waitress at various locales including Cinderella Inn, Victory Restaurant, Wauregan Hotel, and Charley's Restaurant. She was an avid reader and was fond of doing crossword puzzles and cryptoquotes. Crocheting was also an interest. Isabelle was kind and generous and grateful to all the unsung heroes of her life.

She is survived by her daughter Cathy and Norm Landino of Bridgewater, Ma. and Diane and husband Gary Nash of High Wycombe, England. Also, a sister, Sister Rita Wasilewski CSFN of Wading River, NY, and stepson Joseph (Peppy) Ruffo of Lincoln, Nebraska. In addition she leaves a grandaughter Kristen of Jersey City, NJ. Others include her nephew Arthur Laux (Edziu) of New Hampshire and niece Linda Ringhoffer, also of New Hampshire.

The family would like to thank the staff of Norwichtown Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for their professional care and compassion.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 120 Cliff St., Norwich on Friday, January 10th at 10am meeting directly at church. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Norwich. There are no calling hours. Labenski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
