Joan was born in Champlain, NY on April 19th, 1941 to the late Henry and Bertha (Lapointe) Grimshaw. After completing high school, she married her beloved husband Kenneth Mayotte who predeceased her.
Joan’s passion in life was caring for her family. Her love of them, and in fact everyone, showed with her warm welcoming smile. Cooking was just one of the things she enjoyed doing. No one ever visited and left hungry. While she collected butterflies and carousel horses, she spent some serious time reading. Possibly one of her favorite things to shout was “BINGO” as she was a regular player.
Her passing will leave a void in many people’s lives but she will forever remain in the hearts and minds of all who knew her and bring a warm smile to their face as well in remembrance.
She is survived by her children; Donna Parker and her husband Walter, Deborah McShane and her husband Steven, Dennis Mayotte and Deanna Mayotte, sisters; Gerri Duminsil, Barbara Grimshaw and Beverly Belvery, grandchildren; Eric Perry, Clifton Parker, Kyle Mayotte, Heather McShane, Kory Mayotte, Rachael McShane-Allen, and Alex Savaria and great-grandchildren; Milo, Skyy, Aiden and Noah. She was predeceased by one daughter; Darlene Mayotte and one sister; Doris Strack.
Services are private at the convenience of the family. Please leave a favorite memory of Joan on her obituary page at www.churchandallen.com
