Kathleen J. Henry

Taftville - Kathleen J. Henry, age 63, died October 16, 2021, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Norwich, on April 24, 1958, the daughter of Albert and Judith Dupont. She grew up in Lisbon, going to Lisbon Central School and Norwich Free Academy. Kathleen married William Henry on October 8, 1983, and recently celebrated 38 years of marriage.

She was a real estate appraiser and later worked as a school bus driver until her retirement.

Kathleen was loved by her husband Bill, her son Daniel, her daughter Olivia, her father Albert Dupont, her aunt Joyce Brewster and her sister Karen Davis. She was predeceased by her mother Judith and sister Glynnis Dupont. Kathleen and Bill adopted their son Daniel from Paraguay, South America, in the year 1989 and adopted their daughter Olivia from China in 2007.

Kathleen liked to travel to places like Wales, England, Germany, Paraguay, China, Bermuda, Martinique, Canada and loved going to Cape Cod and Maine.

Kathleen and Bill were active in student exchange programs through Norwich Rotary and Norwich Free Academy, hosting exchange students from Russia, France, Spain, Japan, Australia, Chile, Brazil and Venezuela.

She enjoyed going to area beaches, including vacationing in Maine and Cape Cod. Alongside this, she also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and loved to entertain during the holidays. Kathleen was an active member at church, taught Sunday schools and Relief Society and loved going to the temple.

She was a past president of the Norwich Women's Club and the Norwich Business and Professional Women's Club. Also, Kathleen was a Toastmaster and loved the Norwich Toastmaster Club. She was also an active member of TOPS in Griswold.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2021, at 11 am at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 597 Scotland Road, Norwich. All are welcome.
