She was born Lois Nanette Matracia on May 6, 1932. She married Romeo Raymond DeRico on October 30, 1950.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, and also a daughter Angela Marie Jacobsen.
Lois is survived by 9 children; Mrs. Wendy Thurbur (Richard), Mr. James Baylor (Sally), Mrs. Pamela Chieco (Donald), Mrs. Mary Kaiser (Dennis). Mrs. Rose Semonco (Gary), Mrs. Lori Downey (David), Mr. Michael DeRico (Dori), Mr. Raymond DeRico (Sharon), and Mrs. Carol Valdez (John).
She also leaves 23 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
Lois lived life to the fullest enjoying the simple pleasures of sewing and spending time with family and friends.
Calling hours will be Saturday Jan. 25, 2025 from 10am-1200pm at the Church and Allen Funeral Home 136 Sachem Street Norwich. A Funeral Service will be held Jan. 25, 2025 at 1200pm at the funeral home. Burial will be Monday January 27, 2025 10:00 am in Maplewood Cemetery Norwich.
