

Lois was born December 26, 1928 in Middletown, CT, the daughter of the late John E and Helen J (Ferrell) Walsh.
She graduated from St Joseph College in CT and earned dual masters in History and Latin from UConn.
She went on to pursue her life’s passion of being an educator. Starting as a teacher in Beth Page, NY and later taught Latin at Robert E Fitch Sr. High School in Groton for 11 yrs. She was an avid international traveler. She combined her love of teaching and travel by taking her students on class trips to places all over Europe.
She had a wide range of interests including politics, history, swimming, tennis, skiing, drawing and painting, coin collecting, and more. She loved playing (and teaching) bridge and was an avid sailor all of her life. Spending time with her family were her happiest days.
Lois is survived by her sons Robert Jennings and his wife Denise, William Jennings and his wife Jodie, by her daughter Catherine Brown and her husband Kevin, by her 7 grandchildren Robert Jr., Brianna, Brandon and his wife Baylee, Samantha, Ryland, Paxton, Thomas and his fiancé Samantha Cantone, and by her great granddaughter Sedona Lois.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth McGrane and her (ex) husband Robert Burr Jennings.
The family would like to invite her friends and relatives to a Memorial Mass, to be celebrated at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 69 Groton Long Point Rd. in Groton, on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10 am.
There are no calling hours. Burial will be private for the family.
