Lorna S Caviggia

Lorna was born in Norwich, CT on August 30, 1953 to Walter and Elaine (Menders) Thoma. She graduated high school, attended college and on Sept. 29th, 1973 married her high school sweetheart, Dana J. Caviggia at St. Mary Church in Norwich.

She enjoyed being self-employed in her antique business and had worked and volunteered at various other places from time to time. Her greatest love and enjoyment however, was being with family and friends who she always put first. She loved to cook and used that as a focal point to bring everyone together as often as possible. Even through her physical struggles she never let her own needs supersede everyone else’s.

Lorna is survived by her beloved husband Dana, her daughter; Alison Hatch and husband Andrew, brothers; Walter Thoma and wife Sandra, Roy Thoma and wife Lucy, grandchildren; Ashley and Abigail Hatch, aunts, uncles, cousins and several nieces and nephews and countless friends, all of whom she considered as family.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 181 Elizabeth St., Norwich, CT. Interment is private at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Thursday from 5pm – 8pm at Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich, CT.
