Margaret Lucille Neuman, 90, of Gales Ferry, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. She was born January 28, 1935, in River Falls, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Warnberg) Hilbert.
She attended River Falls High School and she married Bernard Neuman on April 5, 1957, and resided in several states/countries while Bernard was in the Navy, eventually settling in Gales Ferry. Margaret was a homemaker while raising her 3 children and also worked at the Navy Commissary for many years.
Margaret enjoyed years of traveling with her husband in their RV upon retirement. Alaska was by far one of their favorite travel destinations, so much they traveled there twice. When she was physically able, she loved working outside in the yard whether it be raking, shoveling, mowing, or weed whacking.
She was an all-time WWE wrestling fanatic, a past-time she shared with her own mother as a young girl. When coming to visit, if you heard loud shrieks echoing throughout the house, you knew she was watching wrestling. She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing word search puzzles, watching Judge Judy, going out to lunch, and shopping.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Debra (Mark) Byk of Waterford, son Michael Neuman of Bozrah, daughter Elizabeth (Ronald) LaCroix, of Griswold, grandsons Austin (Rebecca) LaCroix of Canterbury, Logan LaCroix of North Stonington, great-granddaughter Lakelynn LaCroix, and longtime friend and neighbor, Irene White, whose friendship she cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard Neuman, her brothers Donald, Ronald, George, 2 infant brothers, and sister, Christine.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Church & Allen Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Donations in her memory may be directed to the Connecticut Humane Society, 169 Old Colchester Road, Quaker Hill, CT 06375 .
