Rick was born on April 3, 1949 in Troy, New York to Sylvia and Elmer Patenaude. He attended Thayer High School in Winchester, New Hampshire before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He proudly served two tours in Vietnam as an aircraft mechanic.
Rick leaves behind his beloved wife Nancy Farnsworth, his daughter Recina Robert and spouse Joseph, daughter Diana Nigro, his stepdaughter Erica Capaccio and spouse Frank, stepson Kenneth Holt and spouse Michele. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren Baine Sevigney, Natalie Nigro, Frank Capaccio, Anthony Capaccio, Carly Capaccio, Nathanial Holt and Nikolas Holt.
Rick is survived by his siblings Edward Patenaude and his family and Sharon Laurie and her family and Jessie. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Roberta, Michele, and Effie and by his brother Daniel.
After his military service, Rick worked on automobiles, motorcycles, electronics, heating and air conditioning, and appliances, retiring from Mohegan Sun after 18 years.
Rick enjoyed motorcycle riding, boating, driving his classic car, racing, RC cars, and reading anything he could to add to his wealth of knowledge. He would modify his vehicles so they would go a little faster.
Rick was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and stepfather to his family and a friend to all. He was quite a storyteller, most if it true. He was witty, with a great sense of humor, and quick with a joke or a friendly tease.
Rick will be sorely missed by many, especially his pets Aspen (dog) and Alley (cat), the Patio Group Sue, Mike, Betty, and Chuck, his dear friend Lou and many other family and friends.
