

She was born in Limestone, ME on October 21, 1926 to the late Louis and Lena (Johndro) O’Bar.
Rita was known for being able to make a house a home focusing on making the environment comfortable for everyone. Additionally, she was an exceptional cook and made everyone feel welcomed. Still, she always had a bag packed and ready to go to the beach which she loved.
She is survived by her long time companion Daniel Murak; son, Roland St. Amand of Oswego, IL, daughters; Sandra Goula of Warwick, RI, LueAnn Watchus of Norwich, CT, and Diane Jones of Enfield, CT as well as her sisters; Ann Dubay of Vernon, CT, Lucille St. Amand of Limestone, ME, Sylvia Waseleski of VA, Eugena Ballar of CA, grandchildren, Danny Michaud of Norwich, CT, Wendy Watchus of Belton, MO, Stephen M. Goula of South Walpole, MA, Rhonda Goula of West Greenwich, RI, Michael Jones of Enfield, CT, Paul Jones of New Haven, CT and Michael St. Amand of Mishawaka, IN; great-grandchildren; Nicole, Randy, Jarrod, Ben, Rebecca, Rachel, Hanna, Joshua, Zachary, Jacob, Natalie, Christopher, Lilly, David, Sarah and Lexi and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, December 30th from 9am to 10:30am at the Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am at Sacred Heart Church, West Town St., Norwich, CT with burial at 2pm at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Enfield, CT.
