

Rosario R. Richardson December 12, 1920 - April 3, 2013 Griswold - beloved husband of Nancy Richardson of Griswold passed on to be with the Lord on April 3, 2013. The Richardson's celebrated 60 years of a happy marriage together. Rosario was the son of the late Joseph and Georgianna Richardson and was born in Warwick RI on December 12, 1920. He served 4 years in the U.S. Army in 1942. Rosario was retired from United Nuclear. Besides his wife he is survived by his sister in law Betsy Richardson and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he was so proud of, and loved. He also leaves a special friend Bill Sugden. He was predeceased by brothers Gerard and Rene Richardson. He was always involved in coaching and playing sports. He coached in the US Army, played city league baseball, basketball, and was a semi pro football player for the Greenville Bulldogs. He was a lifelong Red Sox and Patriots fan. Rosario loved all animals, was a sun worshiper and enjoyed spending winters at his condo in Cape Coral FL, and spending time at the beach. He loved doing yard work, especially mowing his acreage and doing his carpentry and mason work. There are no calling hours. Funeral Services and burial are private and at the convenience of the family. The Labenski Funeral Home Norwich has charge of the arrangements. For the month that Rosario was at the Villa Maria Nursing Home, he had the best of care from the entire staff.
