Sean O'Connor

Sean was predeceased by his parents, Patricia M. O’Connor and Thomas R. O’Connor, and his sister Erin E. O’Connor.

He is survived by his former wife Sandee L. Gray (Mattern) and their three children, Jillian E. Deso (Zane) of Waterford, CT, Raeghan L. O’Connor, and Thomas T. O’Connor, both of Preston, CT, as well as his sisters Kerrie A. O’Connor (Carlo Porazzi) of Gales Ferry, CT, Devon M. Bushey (Stephen) of Waterford, and Tara O’Connor-Zacharski (Anthony) of Glastonbury, CT, in addition to many nieces and nephews.

Sean was born in New London, CT, June 26, 1965

He grew up in Gales Ferry and attended Ledyard Public Schools, graduating from Ledyard High School in 1983. He went on to study at Eastern Connecticut State University, receiving his B.A. in Business Administration. His career was spent working for the State of Connecticut until his retirement.

A beloved father, brother, son, and friend to all who knew him. He was known by many as a dedicated and loving coach. Sean knew no strangers.

His children were his biggest accomplishment and his spirit will shine on through them and the many lives he touched throughout his life.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem Street, Norwich, CT, Friday January 13, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

There will be no funeral. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
