Sebastian has left an ever-lasting impression on so many people. Although his life was cut way too short, he showed everybody how hard a person can fight to get through every obstacle in his path of life. It didn’t matter what he had to do, he never gave up on overcoming anything in his way, even when he wanted to. Sebastian showed everybody who knew him how dedicated a person can be to get through anything.
Sebastian was loved by every person who ever knew him and will continue to be remembered and honored in everything he loved to do. He had the biggest and most loving heart a person could have, sometimes he tried to hide it under a rough and tough exterior, but it always came through. He was loving, caring, and protective of everybody he was close to, especially his wife whom he made an immeasurable amount of memories with. In their twelve years together, they shared so much love and support for each other, it was obvious to everybody around them that they were meant to be together.
Sebastian was raised in Ringgold, GA where he created many memories with countless people. Although he moved to CT, a large part of his heart remained filled with his southern roots. He not only brought some of his southern ways to the people he knew in CT, but he also picked up some New England habits that he always tried to deny.
He was a dedicated Tennessee Volunteers football fan and wore Tennessee orange every chance he got. The people around him enjoyed watching and hearing about college football because Sebastian’s passion was so strong and infectious. He also enjoyed fishing and spent countless hours talking about fishing with his best friend when he couldn’t be out doing it. He truly took his passions to heart and put everything into them.
Sebastian is survived by his wife, Stephanie (Deschamps) West who was blessed to share the life they made together. He is also survived by his grandparents, who were like parents to him, Carla and Arvin Langston of Ringgold, GA; as well as his father and step-mother, who love him very much, Joe and Joy West of Cleveland, TN. He is also leaving behind his in-laws, who thought of him like their own son, Eric and Tina Deschamps of Baltic, CT; his sister-in-law Taylor Rinbolt and her husband Andrew Rinbolt of Oakdale, CT; and his nephew and god-son who he loved very much, Jameson Rinbolt. Lastly, he is survived by his best friend who was like a brother, Ethan Vaughn and his family of Ringgold, GA. Sebastian has many other family members, friends and loved ones who he leaves behind and will miss him.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Church & Allen Funeral Home (136 Sachem St, Norwich, CT 06360). Viewing hours will be from 9:00am to 11:00am, followed by a blessing. Burial will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery (183 Willimantic Rd, Baltic, CT 06330) followed by a gathering at Baltic Fire House (22 Bushnell Hollow Rd, Baltic, CT 06330).
Sebastian’s flowers will be provided by the only florist he would ever trust, McKenna’s Flower Shop (520 Boswell Ave, Norwich, CT 06360). However, Sebastian always made it a point to give to people in need when he had extra to give, so in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to any charity in his name, especially a charity that supports amputees or the military, as those were the causes that meant the most to him.
