Sharon Mary Mozden

A graduate of Norwich Free Academy, she went on to earn her Licensed Practical Nurse credential at Mitchell College & devoted four decades of her life to caring for patients at William Backus Hospital.

During her early career, Sharon met love of her life, Walter. They wed on May 11, 1974, at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville.

Sharon became a mother to her son in December of 1978. As her only child, Christopher was her greatest joy and purpose. She was endlessly proud of her son and cherished every moment as his mother.

Sharon will be remembered for having a keen eye for interior design, being a compassionate nurse, a loyal friend and a devoted wife. Sharon was a voracious reader, with a pile of books always within reach. She enjoyed her meticulously cared for home and gardens (especially her fishpond), in addition to caring for the many stray cats that always seemed to find Walt.

Sharon was predeceased by her husband Walter, as well as her brothers Raymond Paradis, Lionel Paradis, Arthur Paradis & sister Claire Brierley.

She is survived by her son Christopher & his wife Natasha. She also leaves behind Walter’s siblings Catherine Mozden Lewis and husband Tom, Annterese Mozden Thropp and husband Bart, Mark Mozden, Elizabeth Mozden Weiner and husband Nick, as well as many cousins and close friends that have become family along the way.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 19, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 156 Providence St., Taftville, CT 06380, with interment held privately at the convenience of the family.
