Born on December 31, 1964, in Chandler, Arizona, she was the beloved daughter of Paul and Judith Jensen of Apollo Beach, Florida. From an early age, Sherri was a nurturer, always drawn to caring for others, a calling that led her to a career in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse, dedicating many years of her life to helping those in need during her time working at Norwich State Hospital. Her kindness, patience, and unwavering compassion left an indelible mark on the countless lives she touched.
Beyond her career, Sherri had a deep and abiding love for nature and animals. She found joy in the simple beauty of the outdoors—listening to the birds, feeling the sun on her face, and walking outdoors. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she cared for them with the same love and devotion she showed to everyone in her life.
Sherri’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Steven DePolito, her cherished children, Nicholas DePolito II and Sara Santana (Depolito), and her beloved grandchildren, Sophia and Gabriel Santana, all of Florida. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Karen Houggy of Waterford, CT, and Dawn Brennan of Florida, along with many extended family members and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, on Monday, March 10th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Tuesday, March 11th, from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Home Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, 184 Salem Turnpike, Norwich.
In honor of Sherri’s compassionate spirit memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org.
