Shirley Rita Conroy

Conroy- Shirley Rita Conroy passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Backus Hospital Norwich Ct. Shirley was born Jan. 7, 1933 in Cambridge Ma. to the late Raymond Scott and Winifred West. She was employed in the banking industry before becoming a home health aide. She was the loving wife of the late Edward F. Conroy for more than 50 years. Shirley was a gifted and talented artist. Her family portraits were always in demand and her oil landscapes were breathtaking. With her very spiritual and caring personality she created a home that was loving, forgiving, and open to all. She only focused on the good in people and the positive things in life. She is survived by 2 sons, Michael E. Conroy and Clifford P. Conroy, 2 daughters Cindy L. Conroy and Carol L. DeJesus, as well as 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brother, Av Hanright, and her sister Beverly Farago. Visitation will be held on Sunday Jan. 25, 2015 from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Labenski Funeral Home 107 Boswell Avenue Norwich Ct. Burial will be private.
