Norwich-Terry L Brick, Jr. ,49, passed away on January 6, 2022. He was born on July 11, 1972, to Marion Brick and Terry L Brick Sr. He graduated from high school in East Lyme. Even though he lived all over southeastern Connecticut, he could always be found at TLB Machine Shop in Norwich. He always ended up navigating there no matter what was going on in his life.
He found his love for cars and racing at an early age and never really wanted to do anything else in his life but that. "Junior" (as he was affectionately called) had many jobs and did many things, but nothing made him as happy as driving race cars and working on them at "the shop". His true loves were his race car(s) and his Chevelle! He raced at many tracks and set up many different race cars. In 2007, he was Heavy Street Champion in the Orlando World Street Nationals. It was a great accomplishment. Since then, he has set up many winning race cars in all divisions. Some went on to win championships. More recently, he set a new track record for the fastest modified at Waterford Speed bowl.
He was an open, outgoing person. If you ever met him, you would never forget him. He could talk you into doing all kinds of crazy fun things and maybe even get into trouble with him. Terry had the gift of being able to talk to anyone, anywhere. He loved to laugh and he loved to joke around. But no matter what, never arm wrestle him. He loved to do that too.
He will be greatly missed by his mother Marion of Salem, and his father Terry of Canterbury, his sister Theresa Grendell of Ashford, and his brother Charles of Salem. Also surviving him are two nieces Jessica Murphy and Haley Brick, and two nephews Christopher and Cody Brick; along with several aunts, uncles and many cousins.
A memorial service for Terry will be held in the spring in coordination with racing season. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
