

Tracy A. “Trax” Lachance of Baltic, CT, just 49, passed away September 20, 2021 after a short illness. She was born on March 14, 1972 in Manchester, CT and lived in and around the Norwich area her entire life. Tracy was a beloved member of her community, family and friends and will be deeply missed. Tracy was a force to be reckoned with. Known as the “Goat Lady,” she had a genuine love for all types of animals, especially goats. Her unique personality drew people to her, she had many friends from all walks of life. Tracy could easily make anyone laugh with her raw and ruckus personality. Direct and straightforward, honesty and loyalty were some of Tracy’s greatest attributes.
Tracy founded and ran Big Bones Goat Sanctuary – her goats and farm were her passion and delighted her friends, friends, family and visitors. Tracy worked tirelessly to help any animal that came in her path. Tracy was also a dedicated family member – having amazing role models in her parents Barbara and Gerry Lachance.
Besides her loving parents, Tracy is survived by a brother Paul Lachance of Maine, a sister Christine Carver and her husband Kevin of Middlebury, a niece Sydney Carver and nephews Caleb Carver, Hunter Lachance and Sawyer Lachance. She is predeceased by a brother Philip Lachance and a sister Gretchen Lachance.
A celebration of Tracy’s life will be held on Sunday, October 10th at 4:00 p.m. at the Big Bones Goat Farm, 115 Salt Rock Road., Baltic, CT.
