
Cora was born on Feb. 22, 1934 in the Town of Caroline the daughter of Howard and Mildred Close Straight. Over the years she has worked for the former Basket Factory in Norwich, the Pickle Factory in Lebanon, had worked cleaning homes for many families in the Earlville and Hamilton area and worked at Continental Cordage until her retirement.
Cora will be remembered as a happy person who loved life and lived it to the fullist.
Cora is survived by her fiancee’ Dan Monroe of Smyrna, her children Cora Fuller (Mike Lathrop) of West Easton, Sharon Baker (Frank Combes) of Preston, Debra (Edwin) Collins of North Norwich, Mary (James) Russett of Smyrna, Mildred (Harold) Hartwell of Lebanon, Charles Rivers Jr. (Dee) of Oneonta and Charlene (Jim) Grimes of Delphi Falls along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Frances Dick of Georgetown, her brothers Robert (Deborah) Straight also of Georgetown and her brother Glen (Barb) Straight of Sherburne and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cora was predeceased by her husband Charles Rivers.
A funeral service for Cora will be held on Tuesday, April 24, at 1:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Medoff, Baptist Clergy, of Sherrill will officiate. Interment will follow in the Willcox Cemetery of Smyrna.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm.
