Born July 16, 1948 in New Berlin, NY, she was the daughter of Audrey L. and Horatio G. Powers. She was a life-long resident of Holmesville and South New Berlin.
Donna was the sweetest, kindest, and most loving person to all who knew her. She remained strong and independent through all she endured.
She enjoyed her trips to the Adirondack region and to Seneca Lake with her husband, and loved her flowers, especially the bleeding heart that her daughter Wendy gave her. She always looked forward to it blossoming every spring.
She enjoyed spending time and talking with her sister, Barbara, and the rest of her family. She loved caring for her two cats, Blackie and Missy, who brought her much joy and comfort.
She was an employee of Unison in Norwich for 41 years, retiring in 2015. She was also a member of Tops chapter 334 in Norwich.
Donna was married twice; first to David F. Bovee in 1965, and second, in October 1987, to Daniel M. Anderson, who survives her.
She is also survived by her daughter: Wendy (Bovee) Oldham and husband, Ian, of So. New Berlin; her son: David J. Bovee and his significant other, Angela Benedict, of Norwich; her step-daughter: Heather Cummings and her husband, Jim, of Greene; her sister: Barbara (Powers) Vanderbunt and her husband, Richard, of Greene; and her “adopted” son: Ryan Cook of New Berlin.
Also surviving are her grandchildren: Kimberley Wall of Indianapolis, IN, Corey Wall of Norwich, Brianne Wall of So. New Berlin, Gabrielle and Dominick Bovee of Norwich, and Kolbee and Mason Cummings of Greene; her great-grandchildren: Kaylynn Potter and Damon Smith of Norwich; and her sisters-in-law: Sandy Gregory and her husband, Herb, of Cortland, and Cynthia Anderson of Cortland; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her daughter: Kimberley Bovee; her sister: Shirley (Powers) Baker; her brothers: Donald, Raymond, James, Glenn “John,” and Edward Powers; and her fiancé: Robert H. Kerth.
There will be no funeral or calling hours, as per her wishes, and a graveside service for the family will be held in the spring in Evergreen Cemetery, White Store.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna’s memory may be made to Evergreen Cemetery Association, 431 White Store Rd., Norwich, NY, 13815.
