Gale L. Durant

A viewing for family was held on July 10 at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home in Norwich. A graveside service was held on July 12 at the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Gale was born on September 4, 1966 in Oneida, NY. As a young child, his family relocated downstate and he attended Pine Plains School District.

Gale worked as a logger and tree climber for many years at Lewis Tree Service.

Gale met his wife and moved to Norwich 25 years ago and raised his family. He loved the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He had a talent for repairing and rebuilding computers. He was quick to lend a hand and help anyone who needed it.

Gale Durant is survived by his wife Lorrie (Jeffrey) Durant from Norwich, daughter Monica (Durant) Barner of South Plymouth, step-children Brandy Bush, Brittany Ketchum, Zachary Ketchum, C.D. Ketchum of Norwich, and several grandchildren. Sister Rita (Durant) Bombard and spouse Larry Bombard of Bouckville, sister Brenda Durant of Oneida, and sister Patricia (Durant) Kivler and spouse Paul Kivler of Verona, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased in death by his parents Gale L. Durant Sr. and Eva (Lohr) Durant, brother Joseph Durant, and sister Lisa Hoffman Durant.
