Gerald A Wilkes

Jerry was born in Norwich on June 14, 1955 the son of Thomas L. and Marjorie (Leib) Wilkes Sr. and was a 1973 graduate of the Sherburne-Earlville High School. He lived most of his life in the North Norwich and Norwich area except for a brief period of time, 2000-2007, when he made his home in North Carolina. Jerry was always working in the telecommunications field and was most recently employed by North Central Telecom of Wis. as an Installer-Technician.

A family guy at heart, Jerry’s children were his pride and joy. He enjoyed his hunting and fishing, a good game of pool, NASCAR, video games and nitendo.

On Aug. 30, 1997 in North Norwich he married Lonnie Church.

Jerry is survived by his mother Marjorie Wilkes of No. Norwich, his wife Lonnie, daughters Ashley Wilkes and husband Jeremy and Nikita Wilkes of Norwich, Taylor and Cameron Wilkes of Leonardsville, his sister Robyn Weaver and husband Michael of Norwich, brothers Larry Wilkes of Endicott, Thomas Wilkes Jr. and wife Mary of MD and James Wilkes of Oxford. Also surviving are his grandchildren Emma, Abbigale and Bentley along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services for Jerry will be held on Friday, May 2, at 5:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Very Rev. Charles Taylor will officiate.
