Martha Penhollow

Martha was born in Norwich on April 7, 1916 the daughter of Wesley and Mabel (Clark) Browning. She grew up in Norwich where she attended the local schools. Soon after her education she began a longtime career with the Norwich Knitting Mill which spanned over 40 years retiring at the age of 65.

Martha was a pleasant lady who enjoyed people and good conversation. She was an excellent cook and baker and would share many of her homemade goodies with family and friends. She was a life long member of the Broad St. United Methodist Church and participated in many of the church functions. On February 27, 1957 she married Martin Penhollow who passed away March 30, 1999.

Martha is survived by her nephew Richard Griffin and wife Sharon of Norwich.

Besides her husband Martin, Martha was predeceased by her sisters Marian Salisbury and Mildred Cavney and her brothers Ralph and Ronald Browning.

A funeral service for Martha will be held on Wednesday, October 22, at Noon from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Nancy Hale, Pastor of the Broad St. United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the South Side Cemetery of Plymouth.

Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11 am until the time of the service at Noon.
