Mary Jane Bailey, 94, passed away February 4th, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. Mary was born in Richland NY on October 2, 1931 to Elias John Hudgins (deceased) and Sarah Irene (Stewart) (deceased).
Mary lived in the Norwich area for over 70 years. She worked in Quality for Simmons Precision/BF Goodrich until her retirement. She also worked as a nurse's aid and volunteered at CMH. She was a member of the North Norwich Garden Club, Eastern Star and Home Bureau. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, reading, bird watching and she loved dogs.
Mary had three children, sons Michael P. Bailey (deceased) and Stephen D. Bailey and a daughter Ruth A. Bailey. She also had grandsons Joshua Bailey and Daniel Bailey, granddaughters Teresa Shiraishi and Jane Wermer and a great granddaughter Camille Wermer.
A graveside service will be held at the North Norwich cemetery in the spring.
