
Nicholas Andrew Ewen, II passed away on January 14, 2025 at his home in Norwich. He was born in Norwich on November 26, 1954 to the late Nicholas A. and Ruth (Johnson) Ewen. He was predeceased by his sisters, Carin Angle Furgison and Mary Williams Craine. Survivors include his siblings, Martha Williams, Diane and Robert Angle Adams, Paul and Sally Kingsbury Ewen, Mark Ewen and Lee Conant, and Hope Ewen; and his many nieces and nephews.
Nicholas graduated from Norwich High School in 1972. He worked at Montgomery Ward before embarking on a 45 year career with Simmons Precision which later became GE/Unison. Nick retired from GE/Unison in 2016. He also spent time working at two local bowling alley pro shops selling equipment and drilling bowling balls. Nick played softball in the Chenango Valley Softball League in the mid 1970’s, but his true passion was bowling. He became a member of the Norwich Bowling Hall of Fame after bowling multiple 300 games and 800 series. He was also a league bowler for over 45 years. When not working or bowling, Nick would be home watching the New York Yankees or the New York Jets alongside his beloved Maine Coon cat, T-Pring.
A celebration of Nick's life will take place on May 24, 2025 at the Norwich VFW Post 2782, 61 E. Main St. Norwich beginning at 12:00pm.
