After graduating college with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, he enlisted in the US Marines and proudly served his country during the Vietnam era, being honorably discharged in 1971. Nick was also an 18 year member of the I.B.E.W. Local #3 and followed his father’s footsteps becoming Chief Electrician/Foreman in charge of electrical maintenance in the Empire State Building. Nick’s second occupation was auto mechanics. After leaving the Empire State Building, he owned and operated a successful auto repair and towing business in New Jersey. Nick purchased property in East Pharsalia and relocated there in 1985. He went to work for Davis Tire as a mechanic and service manager, later joining the Chenango County Sheriff’s Department as a fleet mechanic and building maintenance person until his retirement.
Nick was an excellent marksman who enjoyed shooting, hunting, and just spending time outdoors in nature. He was a hard worker who gave his all in whatever he did, a man of his word and took pride in his integrity. He was honest, kind and generous and would help anyone in need.
Nick is survived by his longtime ward, friend and beneficiary, Frederick J. Miller, IV.
I was Nick’s desire that there be no formal funeral services, but rather remember him with a donation to The Chenango County Sheriff’s Summer Camp at sheriffsinstitute.org/camp
