Richard J. Bliss

Richard J. Bliss, 67, of Plymouth, passed away on April 5, 2022. He was born on October 1, 1954 to the late Donald and Ruth (Close) Bliss. Richard graduated from Norwich High School on June 24, 1973 and went on to serve his country in the US Army until his honorable discharge in 1979. After serving in the Army, Richard returned to the Norwich area and made his living at BF Goodrich/Unison Industries until his retirement.

Richard is survived by his aunt, Marjorie Close, of Norwich; his brother, Norman and Linda Bliss, of St. Augustine, FL; his sister in law, Shirley Bliss Emhof; his nieces and nephews, Rebecca and Rich Bliss, of Smyrna; Cindy and Randy Manwarren, of South Plymouth; Joe Cook, of Norwich; Mike and Christine Cook, of Hempstead, NC; Irene and Joe Taylor, of New Berlin; Norm and Jennifer Furgison, of New Berlin; Bobby and Marcha Bliss, of South Edmeston; Carl and Wendy King, of Pittsburgh, PA; and Amee and John Hushin, of Boise, ID; several great nieces and great nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother, Harold Bliss.

A celebration of Richard’s life will take place in May, 2022. He will be laid to rest at Southside Cemetery in Plymouth.
