Rose M. Whittaker

Rose was born on January 20th, 1945, in Norwich, NY. She attended Norwich schools and later retired from Procter & Gamble.

She married James Whittaker on August 17th, 1991. James passed away on January 25th, 2026.

Rose will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking walks, reading, and doing puzzles.

Rose is survived by her children Wayne Hughes and Karen (Hughes) Carr; and her stepsons Keith (and wife Delores) Whittaker and Brian Whittaker. Her grandchildren Talon Taltavall, Brittany Taltavall, Krystal (and husband Nate) Thorpe, Brooke Carnahan, and Emma Hughes. Her great-grandchildren Adison Taltavall, Cambrie Canfield, Wesley Packer, Nolan Thorpe, and Kennedy Thorpe.

Rose is also survived by her siblings Mary Lindholm, John Combes, Helen (and Clarence) Rowe, June (and Earnest) Conway, Nina Leib, Frank (and Sharon) Combes, and Earl Combes.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 10th, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
